Introducing – Tamara Sparks, Midwest Regional Sales Manager

Tamara SparksWe are excited to introduce Tamara Sparks as our Midwest Regional Sales Manager who will be covering the state of Missouri. Tamara has over 24 years of experience in law enforcement and retired at the rank of Lieutenant from the Johnson County Kansas Sheriff’s Office. Over the course of her distinguished career, she spent eight years assigned to the Johnson County Criminalistics Laboratory within the Crime Investigations Unit, where she earned certification as a Senior Crime Scene Analyst from the International Association for Identification (IAI).

Tamara was an active member of the Johnson County Officer Involved Investigation Team and contributed to numerous major homicide investigations in coordination with the Metropolitan Major Case Unit.

Tamara “jumped at the opportunity to train in 2005, when the KLETC (Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center) Regional Academy needed a new Crime Scene Class Instructor”. She then spent seven years there developing and teaching curriculum focused on evidence documentation, scene photography, and shooting reconstruction—areas in which she has a deep professional passion. Next, Tamara was able to teach crime scene photography and scene processing with a company out of New Jersey before they closed.

Training has become a real passion for Tamara, “I enjoy the interaction with class participants and opportunities to both teach and learn. My favorite thing is the “aha moment” when a concept is relatable or a technique works. My favorite thing after a class is hearing back from participants how they were able to apply what they learned in the field.”

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Grantham University, and she is a licensed Part 107 commercial drone pilot, actively expanding her skills in aerial imaging and search and rescue operations.

Tamara currently serves as the Director of Crime Scene Training for Lone Guardian LLC, where she provides specialized instruction and support to small and tribal law enforcement agencies.

She lives with her husband, horses and always growing pack of dogs in rural Cass county. Together, they enjoy wildlife photography and visiting National Parks. Trips to Ireland and Italy in the past few years have also been highlights.
Tamara’s favorite TV policewoman is Dexter’s sister, Debra Morgan. She says Debra “is tenacious, loyal and not afraid to voice her theories in the most colorful language.” L.A. Confidential is her favorite police movie. “The 1950s LAPD ethics story, Oscar winning cast and memorable characters make it a regular rewatch.”

Send Tamara an email or give her a call (913-206-5296) to discuss your agency’s investigation supplies needs and wants.
